Anni Ridsdill Smith, Director
Anni is the founder of airate. She is fascinated by the role and importance of Non-Technical Skills to the effective working of customer service, security and frontline aviation teams, with a particular specialism in dealing with conflict. She has a Master of Science degree (with distinction) in Training and Performance Management from The University of Leicester (UK)/Hong Kong University and she has twice conducted research into the role of Emotional Labour in dealing with anger, at London Heathrow Airport.
Anni is a Fellow of the UK Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) and qualified as a Conflict Management Instructor.
Anni spent her early career with the Human Resources team at American Airlines, where she was the Human Resources Manager for Northern Europe and she has studied, lived and worked in the UK, USA, Hong Kong and Taiwan. She is passionate about understanding the behaviour of people in aviation and works to help others to cope calmly and professionally with the human challenges of their work. She is an experienced and popular trainer.
Anni is a Board Trustee and keen supporter of the Essex & Herts Air Ambulance Trust, where a fantastic team of doctors, paramedics, pilots, staff, fundraisers and volunteers (plus two helicopters!) save lives.
